Quick note:
Why These Groups Exist
House sitting works best when expectations are clear before anyone commits. Over time, we found that public social platforms encourage rushed decisions, unclear communication, and repeated misunderstandings.
These groups exist to support a calmer, more structured approach — centred on written profiles and shared understanding.
Sitters Group — OPEN
An open discussion group for house sitters. Share experience, ask practical questions, and learn how owners evaluate sitters before confirming a stay.
This group is publicly readable and open to join.
Property Owners Group — CLOSED
A private discussion group for property owners who prefer clarity, preparation, and fewer unresolved issues.
Access is limited to owners who use a written property profile to document expectations before confirming a house sit.
Membership is by invitation.

Why We Don’t Rely on Social Media Groups
Large social platforms increasingly limit visibility, fragment discussions, and change group behaviour without notice. Important conversations are easily lost, and continuity suffers.
Moving early to a stable, account-based platform helps avoid disruption and preserves discussions, decisions, and shared knowledge.
Participation Standards
- Clear communication is expected
- Written profiles reduce misunderstandings
- Discussions are practical, not promotional
- Respect and professionalism are required
These groups are intentionally simple. Their purpose is not volume, but quality.
